Bluelab Test Meters (EC, pH, Temp)

Handheld electronic EC and pH test meters allow a grower to take instantaneous readings of their nutrient tank solution, growing media, run off, or media slurries to gauge crop performance and to ensure they are not over or under feeding their crop.

The portability of the meters allows the grower to visit multiple sites in quick succession to gain an overall picture of system performance and crop health.

It is an ideal device to have when multiple tanks or medias need to be tested in different locations.

The meter gives an “on demand” reading. This means the meter needs to be turned on and inserted into the nutrient solution or media before a reading can be taken.

After taking a reading, the meter it is then turned off and stored in a convenient location for future use.

There are a number of different types of hydroponic meters.

Some meters specialise in measuring one variable only i.e. measuring pH only, or measuring conductivity only.

Or you can purchase a Combo meter which can measure a number of variables on the one meter e.g. pH, conductivity, and temperature.

Pure Hydroponics stocks the Bluelab range of handheld test meters.

We have used this product range for many years and can attest to their reliability and accuracy.

Of course, there are an abundance of cheap throw away meters on the market today. You get what you pay for. Does a grower want to pay a bit more for a higher quality meter to gain peace of mind knowing that their meters are reading accurately and will last for a decent timeframe?

Or do they want to buy a cheaper meter with a reduced level of accuracy and lifetime and be faced with disposing of it in frustration?

In terms of reduced yields and the risks associated with nutrient or acid overdose, it is well worth paying for a high-quality meter like a Bluelab one.

The Bluelab meters are made in New Zealand and have generous warranty periods backed with full product support.

The Bluelab meters cater for the international growing community. This means that the unit of measurement on the meters can be changed to suit the common unit of measurement used by growers in a particular region of the world. For example, the conductivity readings on their meters are interchangeable between EC, CF, pm 500, ppm 700 scale.

Growers can rest assured they have made the right choice when they choose a Bluelab meter for their hydroponic farm.
